Morning Briefing: Lithium Americas Adds Significant Reserves to its Thacker Pass Mineral Reserves and Resource Estimate

Good morning and welcome to the Mining Stock Daily Morning Briefing. I’m Trevor Hall

Its Tuesday, January 7th.

Gold prices fell slightly yesterday as the yields of US Treasuries continued their rise. Front month futures on the yellow metal closed at $2,647/oz, or a quarter of a percent, seeing some gain off of its session lows. Silver outperformed as it rose more than 1 and a half percent on the day, closing at $30.58 per ounce. There was some speculation that President-Elect Trump would pull-back on the severity of some of his tariff policies, a rumour he later stated to be untrue. This caused some whiplash in markets. This morning, both metals are showing green candles ahead of some economic data.

We’ll get to the news from the miners and explorers here in a moment, but first a quick word about today’s sponsor.
